Wireless Internet Through Receiver Model HR77-700

Hello sorry if this has been asked and answered.  I tried searching threads but still unclear.  My question is this.  Can my HR44-700 receiver connect to my home internet wirelessly?  In addition is this a good solid connection? I was cancelling service for a streaming service and they pointed out I could stream with current equipment I have.  Basic setup is the master receiver as noted previous and two Mini's model C51-100.  I want to make sure that I can actually pull this off with equipment on hand and not be sorry.  Thank you in advance.

No, you can’t stream live TV streaming services with an HR44 and client. That agent is absolutely incorrect. If you plan to cancel and switch to a streaming service, you’d need a streaming device or a smart TV that is compatible with the streaming service.

Thanks.  So what is required to live stream with Directtv?  Does a person need to switch their equipment to the Gemini model?

You can definitely get a Gemini device for use with DIRECTV STREAM or you can get a streaming device like a Fire Stick, Roku, or Apple TV.

Your satellite equipment will likely be required to be dropped off at a FedEx or UPS store for the free return. While I don’t believe DIRECTV wants your HR44 or C51 back, they may simply want to recycle it themselves. When you go to drop it off, be sure to keep the shipping receipt the clerk hands you as it is your proof of equipment return.
