What are Gemini Air Dongles To-Do's when replacing AT&T HUB
Replacing current AT& T Internet Air HUB. DTV Tech Sppt told me I only had to get the New HUB setup and there is Nothing I need to do to allow the Gemini Air Dongles to work with the new HUB. Initial Install Instructions for Gemini Dongles states you must know the HUB ID & Password, so I don't believe what Tech Sppt told me. Might anyone know the Steps I'll take once I get the new HUB setup per AT&T instructions. Someone had to setup for me originally (too confusing) so I'm hopeful of good suggestions. Many Thanks!

Your Gemini dongle uses Wi-Fi to connect to your All-Fi Hub. If you change All-Fi Hubs, and change to new Wi-Fi credentials as a result, then you'll need to reprogram your Gemini dongle (along with any other Wi-Fi device) with the new Wi-Fi information.
If you preserve the Wi-Fi settings from the original All-Fi Hub on the new one, then the Gemini dongle (and everything else) will happily connect to the Hub and all will be well. The AT&T fiber gateway replacement provisioning automatically copies the old Wi-Fi settings to new gateway, but I don't know whether they do that for All-Fi Hubs.

With a New ID and Password on the New HUB I don't know how I'd "preserve the original HUB settings" so that Re-Pairing or programming wouldn't have to occur for the HUB to talk to the Dongles. I'll assume I have to treat this like Day 1 with the Dongles and try to muddle thru the Setup Steps. When the DTV Critical Steps are phrased as -- Follow the On-Screen Prompts -- it's hard to anticipate anything.
Thanks for Replying.....

Wi-Fi Access Points, Routers, and ISP Gateways (such as the All-Fi Hub) that provide Wi-Fi connections secure them by using an SSID (a network name) and a password. These normally come with a default SSID and password and you're encouraged to change it when you set it up.
Once your SSID/password is established, you can connect your phone/tablet/smarthome device/Gemini dongle to your Wi-Fi using that SSID and password.
When you replace your Wi-Fi with a new one, it often will have its own defaults (unless, as I said, AT&T automatically pulls the Wi-Fi settings from the old one and pushes them to the new one). At that point you can either chose to use the SSID and Password that it comes with, change it so that it has the same settings as the old one, or create a whole new SSID and Password. If you don't change it back to match the old, then you have to reprogram anything (including the Gemini) to use the new SSID and Password. AT&T might do this for you. You can look to see what Network SSID shows up once the new All-Fi hub is connected.

Current Gateway data matching transfer I was use to when replacing Uverse Gateways. This new Internet Air HUB is part part of a new Acct Number and even Soc Sec # involved, so I'm certain there will be no Auto-Old-to-New data transfer to simplify setup. I did NOT realize there can be a current ID - PWd re-write to the New HUB. I JUST found that Edit ID - PWd screen in Smart Hm Mgr app so because I'm paranoid about changes I'll confirm with Int Air Sppt and plan to do that. THANKS!!
EDIT: Sppt advised I STILL have to activate the HUB first via steps in Smart Hm Mgr app B4 making ID / PWd mods.
NOT ONE Tech Sppt person told me what you did - just implied No Problem with new HUB talking to your TVs and Dongles.
As a ad for Competence in U.S. industry, this HUB change was requd because the AT&T Store wrongly setup the initial Internet Air Acct in my name (husband of Retiree) knowing my wife's name was on the Cellular Acct for Retiree Discounts. THAT guaranteed No $20 Discount promised in a written quote (FOR having Cellular & Internet) because the Acct Names didn't match. The written, numbered quote specifically stated the BILLING ADDRESSES must match - NOTHING about Acct Names. THE ONLY WAY to correct the Over-Billing issue is to Return a perfectly good HUB, Cancel the Service, and start over with a new Acct & HUB - AND Non-intuitive Setup for Me. It's sickening to watch that logic in play. When I call DirecTV for Sppt and they ask my address for ID I'm always told "we don't have That address". The AT&T Store at DTV Acct Setup made an ERROR in my Street Address number, so delays at DTV getting Help. THAT is Finally corrected.
Wish me luck & Thanks again for the Reply.....

Since you're not swapping an All-Fi Hub on one account, but are creating a new account, AT&T will not automatically transfer anything between the two All-Fi Hubs. You can manually do so by connecting to the All-Fi Hub or by using Smart Home Manager, and putting in what you have/had on the original Hub.
The registration steps for the Gemini should not have to be repeated in any case, just the Wi-Fi would have to be reconfigured.

Thanks, Jeff. New HUB up and running. Via Smart Home App I completed Install steps after plug-in of new HUB, had to create a New ID in the app to match New Acct data, logged-in, and THEN Edited ID and PWd to match the disconnected, original HUB data. TVs and DTV dongles don't know anything changed. Soooo Relieved and your Help was Big! Best to you!
