Volume too loud on google assistant's responses - using Direct TV stream C71KW-400 box

The volume when using Google in the C71KW-400 box is twice the volume it should be.  I have been unsuccessful trying to find a way to reduce the volume to match the volume level on the TV.  There was a response on this subject 5 months ago but it didn't resolve the issue.  The response basically provided instructions as to how to change your google permissions and search functions.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am only using TV speakers with the streaming box right now.....no additional audio components involved.

Hello @revtuc01, here to help!  Thanks for bringing this out to our attention.

Let's try these options in order to fix sound problems with DIRECTV Stream:

1-Check the volume level and mute settings on your TV and any audio-visual (A/V) receivers you may have.

2-Check audio settings on your device using your remote: Press the Home button, then Settings > System > Remote & Devices > Program Your Remote > Advanced Remote Program > Switch Volume Control.

3-Make sure that your optical audio cable or HDMI cable is snugly attached to your device, the TV, and any A/V receivers.

4-Connect your device to a different input to see if you can hear sound.

Please let us know how it goes.

This response seems to be answering a question for a "no sound" issue.  I have sound and the remote controls the TV volume just fine.  The issue is that when using the google assistant to control the TV, the responses are at an unusually high level.  One would think the volume set on the TV would be in sync with the volume of the google responses but that is not the case.  The google assistant remains at the same obnoxiously loud level regardless of the volume setting on the TV.

Thanks for the information @revtuc01.

Have you tried to disconnect and reconnect again your device from the power source? It usually can fix many issues.

Please let us know.

Success! I decided to reboot the box and after pushing the reset button I noticed a little piece of plastic sticking out of the box.  I pulled it out and noticed it had "remove" written on it.  Never saw this transparent piece of plastic when I set it up a few days ago.  But I am glad to report that the volume on the google assistant's responses are no longer at max volume!  Not sure if it was the reboot or the removal of the little piece of plastic but thought my resolution may help someone else.

Doing the reset of the box may have been what made mine correct itself.  You hold in the red button on the side of the box until it resets.  After owning the boxes for quite some time, the reset is my "go to" move if I run into any issues with my streaming.

You have to hold it in for 10 to 15 seconds before anything happens.  Or just unplug for at least 15 seconds and it does the same thing I think.
