Volume runaway

Using Directv Genie Hisense TV and Yamaha RX-A880. When I increase volume using the Directv remote it runs away...I mean after I release the toggle to stop increasing it goes WAY TOO HIGH. When I turn off CRC then it won't do anything. TV is using HDMI3 and audio is using fiber optic port.

Hi, @freebird5850. Try resetting your remote, here's how: How to fix your DIRECTV remote | DIRECTV Support Let us know how it goes. Mark, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Mark I did everything above and it's still the same. When I increase volume by toggling the volume switch briefly, the volume increases slightly....If I hold the switch for any length of time it increases for a long time after I let go and the sound goes to the moon. Connections:
Directv to Yamaha RX-A880  receiver via HDMI cable.
Fiber optic out of Directv to Yamaha rcvr
HDMI 3 out of Yamaha rcvr to HDMI 3 input on Hisense TV.

I'll keep trying and thanks.

You can also attempt to reprogram your remote. Visit How to reprogram your DIRECTV remote control | DIRECTV Support to learn how. Mark, DIRECTV Community Specialist

You say Genie but have posted in the DIRECTV STREAM section. The Genie is for DirecTV (satellite) only. If you have STREAM than the box would be the new Gemini.

Because of similar naming, and some boxes have multiple generations (Genie has 3 with the 3rd having an alternate revised version for example), it is recommended to list the actual model number of the box to be sure you get help for what you actually have.
