Video brightness
I have a Roku device and my ATT Steaming box hooked up to my Samsung TV and as I change from the ATT device to the Roku device the brightness of the video is dramatically different. I have carefully chosen the same program (a Big 10 basketball game) on both devices - both live streaming. The 4-year-old Roku delivers MUCH brighter video.
How is this even possible?

Perhaps your TV has independent video settings for each HDMI input. What happens if you swap the Roku and DirecTV Stream box HDMI connections?

I have a Samsung tv as well. Make sure HDR is turned off on the Dtv Stream box and also display set to 1080p. Turn off HDR on your Samsung as well. You can do that in settings--general---external device manager--and uncheck the box/dot for input signal plus. Those two changes dramatically improve the picture for me.

Thank you both for your input. I'll work and the suggestions.
