Using the streaming box with out service
Had DirectTV Streaming but cancelled service. Was told the box I had to buy could be used for other streaming services without a subscription. However, that doesn't seem to be the case since I can't get past the log in screen. Can anyone help or provide directions so I can at least use the $120 box on an old TV for my grandson to watch another streaming service?

Sadly, your DirecTV Stream box is now a boat anchor. It won't work without a DirecTV Stream subscription.

We've been through this repeatedly. People may not be able to get it to work, but the DirecTV Terms and Conditions for the device say it should, and they should be held to that. Has anyone tried escalating the issue (assuming that means anything with DTV support)? The T&C is a legal document that people might reference to see their rights and restrictions before buying the device. DTV will definitely hold customers to the stated terms - DTV needs to be held to them also.

Yes, it's been raised with DirecTV. But nothing has changed.

in that case, I think the standard suggested approach when DTV (or in the past AT&T) didn’t address account and similar issues was to make a complaint to the BBB, which they apparently will respond to.
