Using a DVD recorder with Direct TV stream service

I would like to record musical performances to DVD for future playing. How can I do this? In the past the cable box went into the DVD recorder and out to the TV. Streaming device does not appear to work like that. What are my options?

What streaming device are you using? Typically, it is very cumbersome to attach a DVD recorder to a streaming device as you need an HDMI capture card, access to a computer, etc.

Musical performances are often archived on YouTube and other sources anyway.

Thanks for the reply...I am using an AT&T TV [Quad Core, 1.6GHz 16GB] Android Streaming Media Player - C71KW-400. I just want to record some shows for a parent who is not not interested in learning computers and you tube. I was able to do it with xfinity cable but I switched to AT&T streaming and found it to be a problem.

As mentioned, it's difficult. Older DirecTV Satellite boxes had composite video and analog audio outputs (yellow, red/white RCA connections) that could be easily connected to a VCR or DVD Recorder. Now they just have HDMI Outputs. But no consumer DVD Recorders have HDMI INPUTs. You would need a converter to connect the C71K HDMI OUT to your DVD Recorder or PC video inputs.
