Transfer from satellite to stream

I currently use satellite and also use roku streaming. The streaming app thru roku menuing doesn’t compare at all to the satellite menuing using the direct tv remote. I’m moving and want to transfer to direct tv stream with Gemini devices. If I do that do I still stream through roku. Does the access via Gemini give you better menuing for example with direct tv remote via satellite you can use double play and directly switch channels vice the roku remote where changing channels is a real pain. I’m thinking i can save some money and am fully prepared to keep satellite service but I’m looking for input from streaming users. I understand there’s standard streaming via a streaming device abd then streaming via Gemini, i also know there’s a monthly rental fee for using Gemini.

thanks for replies

The only way you can directly enter a channel number is with a DirecTV Stream device. Using apps you can set the guide to display by alphabet or numbers, but you have to scroll up and down to go to channels, in the guide, then select the one you want to watch.

I changed over from satellite to stream, and did miss some of the bells and whistles satellite has, but got used to it after a while.

Thanks - I’m willing to pay for the two year contract and the Gemini  device for the menuing that it gives you vice having to scroll with the Roku remote from channel 10 (local) to 355 (cnbc).
