Thinking about switching to Directv Stream but need a better remote experience
As the subject line says, I'm thinking about switching to Directv Stream but am very unhappy with the Roku remote control experience. What are my options to enjoy a more cable tv-like experience without having to pay ~$200 for a Gemini Air device. For that amount, for multiple TVs in the household will price us out.

The DirecTV Gemini Air device is the only device that you can manually enter the channel numbers. Other devices you have to scroll until you reach the one you want.
Most all of the apps in the other (Fire TV, Roku, Apple, etc) devices pretty much work the same way. Just the actual DirecTV Gemini Air has a few features the others don't have.

You can purchase the proprietary devices from 3rd parties like Solid Signal, eBay, Amazon, or even Walmart. If you decide to go that way, make sure you subscribe to DirecTV Stream (better known as "Bring Your Own Device") has no fees or contract compared to DirecTV Via Internet.

You can get a Gemini box from Walmart for 40 dollars. Same software and remote as an Air----and it also has an ethernet cable input
