Streaming Gemini unit turns off when TV turns off

DirectTV streaming customer for one week.  Successfully set Gemini up along with its remote.  Worked ok until I turned Samsung. TV off.  Unit turned completely off, making me have to start all over with programming.  Any suggestions?

It's normal for your Gemini device to turn off....there is an on button on the remote. You probably mean restart when you say turn off. I'd also go into your TV settings and turn off Anynet+ HDMI cec

Sorry, but your link refers to box device.  Mine is a small device with short HDMI fir streaming connection.  It's about the size of 1/2 deck of cards.

You must have the Gemini Air.  It kind of sounds like it factory rest itself.  Does this happen every time you turn your TV off or did this happen only once when you shut it off for the first time? Did you get your Gemini from Directv or a 3rd-Party seller?

This is a new (warranty) unit from Direct.  Original unit would not stay on.  This one (arrived today via USPS) stayed on, but turned completely off when I turned TV off.  Wondering if there's  something in settings to adjust?  It would not stay on when I turned TV back on.  It shuts off at various setup points.

How is your Gemini Air device powered? To a wall socket or to the USB port on the TV? If to the TV, then perhaps when the TV is powered off there is no power to the device, causing it to shut down.

Reloaded today.  Plugging power using alternative spot.  Working ok with only one self-initiated reload, but it restarted on its own.  Direct streaming works fine through Roku device.  Hope querky Gemini Sky works because the remote is convenient.

But you have it powered using the power cord/usb-c that came with it --into a power outlet or power strip. You can't use the usb input on the back of the tv.

Yep.  Unit has not self-shut off all afternoon.  Not sure what it will do when we turn off TV tonight.

Should be fine since you have power to the device.

Glad to announce that Gemini Air came out of "sleep" mode when I hit "ON" on the remote.  So far, the switch to a different electric outlet seems to have "fixed" the power lapse/restart from scratch issues.  Fingers crossed.  DirectTV streaming is a good value and other than the Gemini "glitches" we've had, we're happy with it.  Don't miss Xfinity and its costs at all!
