Streaming device issues

Just got on the streaming bandwagon and started out with DTV... might be regretting the decision. In the two weeks we've had the service, we've had to log back into our wifi network 3 or 4 times on the streaming device (hooked to living room TV). This is a pain in the buttocks! Anybody have a solution? Is it a bad streaming device? No other devices (laptops, phones, etc.) get kicked off the network.

What streaming device is it specifically? How is the WiFi connection in that room? Sometimes a wifi connection may continually drop if the wireless strength is weak.

Thanks for the reply. It is the DirecTV streaming device. Our internet is very fast. And the connection is great. We have no issues with anything else connected to the wifi.

Even though you say your signal is strong your box is repeatedly dropping the signal.  Not all devices are created equal.  Some devices connect to weaker signals better. You could try rebooting your router and modem and do a red button reset on your box (press the little red button on the side of the box for 20-30 sec. until the box restarts). If that does not help then the only solution would be to hard wire with an ethernet connection if that is not an option then maybe getting a wifi signal repeater would help to make the signal strong enough so that it will not drop anymore. Hope this helps!

I read somewhere a while back people with special characters (@#$%^& etc) in their wifi passwords were experiencing glitches. I use all numbers and letters with mine so you might try changing your wifi password if there are special characters in it.
