Stream DirecTV through home wirelessly
I currently connect to a DirecTV satellite antenna, into a Genie 2, and distribute the TV throughout the house to other TVs wirelessly. If I switch DirecTV streaming, how do I distribute the signal to oder TVs that cannot connect to the internet?

DIRECTV STREAM has a Cloud DVR. In other words, rather than having a box with a hard drive in it, your recordings are stored in the ‘cloud.’ DIRECTV STREAM has a facility stored with tons of hard drives that store everyone’s recordings.
Therefore, you won’t have to worry about setting up a DVR. All devices logged into DIRECTV STREAM will automatically be able to view recorded programming.

You don’t. DIRECTV STREAM requires that each streaming device have a reliable connection to the Internet in order to stream live TV, on demand, and everything else.
Rather than working together, the streaming devices each separately make their connection to the router/access point.
You MUST invest in a WiFi Extender so that areas with weaker signal aren’t AS bad. DIRECTV STREAM recommends that each device have 8Mbps download.
Meanwhile, your current Genie 2 setup allows for each client to be as much as almost 80ft away from the internal Wireless Video Bridge before the signal drops.

Thank you. I do have a network extender already and a strong signal throughout my home. But, I have two older TV's that connect to the internet, or extender signal, and don't know how I would receive the streaming signal on them. Or, are you suggesting the Genie 2 can be set up to receive the extender signal, rather than the DirecTV antenna signal? How would I make that connection to the extender?

You cannot use your Dtv Satellite Genie to receive Dtv Stream. They are two different services. You will need a Dtv Stream device on each tv to get Dtv Stream service. You can connect a Dtv Stream box, firestick, roku, or apple tv. If you like a cable tv/directv satellite box experience---getting the Dtv Stream box/remote is your best choice.

Thank you. One further question. I want to have the capability of recording some programs I view. Since I will be connecting my TVs to the streamed signal, how do I connect a DVR to this setup? Is there a special DVR required?

Transferring DirecTV Stream recordings to another device, like a VCR, DVD recorder, or PC, is a challenge. None of the DirecTV Stream devices provide analog video/audio outputs that can connect to a standalone recorder.
