Software Update Brings Much Larger Font in Guide!

Yes, mine got the update a couple of days ago and noticed the bigger font as well.  This will make it much easier for those who had a hard time reading the guide on smaller TVs.

Best part---is now you can "disable" apps you don't use to free up space. My box received this update a few weeks ago---glad to see it on my Gemini Air as well.

I just checked mine after reading your post and yes, it's surely huge.  I don't watch live TV (that's how much I hate commercials).  So, I'm always scanning the guide (esp. between 8 PM to 10 PM looking for stuff to record).  And I record a LOT.  Now I can only see about 1 hour's worth and it's going to take me a very long time looking through the guide.  I hope they add a feature in their SETTINGS to have this guide or the smaller one.  Please???  The way I use DTV Stream this isn't going to work for me.

Wish Dtv guide had the ability to enable/disable filters on the side---so the guide itself had more space left to right.

OMG.  I hate the new SUPER LARGE guide.  Please give us a choice in settings where you can return to the old guide and see more info ASAP.  Please ....

What is the latest Directv version? I am on 30.6.5.35 and security patch of September 5, 2023. 

Still waiting on a fix for surround sound.....

Update states I am up to date...

Any suggestions as to how I get the new patch when software update informs me I am up to date?

Calling support is a nightmare!

I had a Gemini Air that was still on July patch earlier this week.   I used the chat feature on this forum and they “escalated” the issue.   The next morning when I awoke, the Gemini Air and my other Geminis were all updated.   First time they all updated at the same time.   And, in addition to the larger font, many of the sub menus now look like Android TV software.   It’s really nice and works smoothly.

How do I getc the software update "escalated"??

Although I don't know why it won't update when I check for updates...

You need to tell the agent in the chat that your devices aren't being updated.  Then ask that the situation be escalated to the tech group so they can send the appropriate signals to your boxes.  You should see the updates the next morning.  

One reason it hasn't updated on its own when you check for software updates is that your device was not put in the queue.  The reason not everyone gets the updates at the same time is that Directv staggers them in case there is something wrong with a particular update that wasn't evident from testing.   Sometimes, like in my situation, the box never gets updated until Directv does something manually on its end.
