Show the date?

On what streaming device?

LG Android TV. 

That's probably a setting on your TV, not the DirecTV Stream App. 

What are you looking for a date on?  The program guide?   DVR listings?  On demand listings? Something else?

FWIW, I just checked a (different) device and see dates with all 3 (well, the guide shows if the page is “today” or shows a date, and for some things with very close dates it only shows the month and day).  

As you turn the streaming on it shows the time in the right hand corner then switches to the left side when you turn on the guide.  It should be universal to show date and time. We shouldn't have to go over two days to find a date! Direct tv is really no better than Dish but at least you know the date. 

It shows "today" and "tomorrow" on the guide but dates would be easier. My Dad has satellite and dementia that would help him tremendously to know the date. 

Wanting it to show a date instead of "today" or "tomorrow"? Unfortunately, DirecTV is not built around issue like your dad has and expect most viewers to understand what today and tomorrow are.

Perhaps the new co-owner will consider this for a future update. But I wouldn't hold my breath on anything changing in the near future.

Consult calendar for current date.

Spoke to "level 2" per Kiran he said that's supposed to be a "universal default" on all tvs! It's should show the date with the time so I sent him a screenshot of our tvs only the time. He said they would be "fixing the issue soon" thanked me for reporting it. 🙄
