Scrolling Issue with DIRECTV Stream with a Gemini unit on a Samsung. TV

I have an issue using the scrolling function on DIRECTV Stream using a Gemini unit on a Samsung TV.  When I try to scroll by using the first letter of the station for certain letters (E for ESPN, I for ION, etc.), the screen does not scroll to these letters. However, the scroll function does work for other letters (A, M, T).  I have performed all

the suggested resets and even got a new Gemini unit - but the issue remains. Anyone else have this issue? If so, how did you resolve it?  Thanks

Can you please go into detail about what you mean by the scroll function?  Do you mean it will not turn to channels that start with E and I in the guide or it will put in the E and I but will not allow you to use the arrow functions on your remote to go up and down in the guide to look at those channels that start with the letter E and I?

To clarify,  the guide will not automatically scroll to channels that start with the letter that is pressed on the remote. For example, if I press E, the guide doesn’t move to the channels that start with E (like the ESPN channels).

Hi, u/Jlbmab23. We're sorry for having trouble with your Gemini unit. Try to pair your Gemini remote with your SAMSUNG TV. Here are some steps to help Set up your DIRECTV remote | DIRECTV Customer Service & Support. To unpair, you'll need to go to System > Remote and Devices > Remove Paired Remote. Still need help? Send us a DM. Kiarha, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Has this issue been resolved for you?  If not, please let us know as I might have a couple of ideas that we could troubleshoot to help with this issue.

The issue has not been resolved, even after up-paired and re-paired the remote. I don’t think the issue is remote related. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!’

It might be the remote itself.  Just wondering when was the last time the batteries were replaced?  I have had similar issues when the batteries have been low and even when I replaced my batteries with low-quality batteries before.  But if the batteries are of good quality and have recently been replaced I would see if customer service would send you a new remote, just to make sure it is not the remote control itself causing the issue.  But you could also try using voice search and it will change the channel directly to the channel you want without looking in the guide or having to search by channel letters.

Thanks for the tips.  A couple of updates:

1. I actual did get a new remote ( along with a new Gemini unit) and the issue persists.

2. I also performed a full reboot/reset of the Gemini unit and the issue was temporarily resolved. However, after an an hour, the screen went blank for about a minute and when the screen reappeared, the issue came back.

That is strange.  I have 5 regular Gemini devices and 1 Gemini Air and I have checked every one of Gemini devices to see if any of them are having the same issue as you.  None have an issue with searching by specific letter or scrolling using the guide in Alpha mode.  Can you go in and change your guide to Numbers and see if you have any issues pressing the same number keys that you are having trouble searching with to see if you have the same issues?

I’m having a similar issue and was wondering if anybody else has experienced this.

I’ve got a Gemini 1 Device and the standard remote that goes with it using DIRECTV Stream from within the Gemini.

When I am inside the guide and using the channel up down button to scroll, it goes one page at a time like it should.

But when I am in my list of recordings and try to use the channel up down button to scroll, it only goes one item at a time, which can be extremely inconvenient when you have a long list of recordings and you’re trying to get to the bottom quickly.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
