Roku vs DirectTV box

What is the difference in using the DirectTV box or a Roku box? Different channels available? How to find out channels supported?

There is no difference in channels when using two streaming devices. The package you pay monthly for will include the channels you expect to get. Now, the difference between the DIRECTV STREAM Osprey Box and the Roku box is that the DIRECTV STREAM Osprey Box has a better remote, faster speeds, and is more user friendly. Therefore, I do recommend it over any other streaming device.

The only thing the Osprey box offers over other devices in my opinion is the use of channel numbers. Other devices (depending on the model) are just as fast and perform comparatively. The draw back to the Osprey box is it's a brick if you do not have a subscription to the service. So it is useless without a subscription. That is why it is proprietary. Other devices can be used with most other services. It all boils down to preference.

Osprey (Dtv Stream box) remote has numbers you can use to change channels. Remote also has shortcut buttons for recording, dvr list, the guide, previous channel, and a voice search button (google) The box also has google play store for access to your apps--so it is an all in one device. The box is really small 7x7 inches so that's nice. And the ff/rewind work much better vs the apps on roku, firestick, appletv.
