Remote turns tv off, but not on
I connected my Direct Streams box to my 55" Vizio (V555-G1). The Direct Streams remote does a good job of controlling my TV's functions except for turning the TV on. It has no problem turning the TV off. Once in a blue moon it will turn the TV on, but most of the time I have to use my Vizio remote.

Is your Stream box connected to an input on your TV that supports HDMI CEC (control)? If so, verify that HDMI CED Control is enabled in your Stream box's setup menu. That should synchronize the Stream box and your TV to turn on/off together.

We have the same issue. The remote turns the TV off and controls the volume but it will not turn the TV on. Enabling the HDMI CEC Volume Control option doesn't fix the problem. We have a Vizio E470VLE TV. Help?

After multiple calls to DirecTV and two new remotes, they now tell me that their remote won't turn Vizio TVs on, only off. I feel that was a way to get me off the phone, but after seeing this thread, it seems to be true in that we also have a Vizio tv. We also have two Samsung tvs and the remotes work fine with those. Very frustrating that they can't get this to work. At least on my Vizio remote, there is only a power button...the same one that turns it on AND off...so why can't the DirecTV remote do the same?

Try the guide button, hold it down for a few seconds. My Vizio was doing the same
as yours, cut it off but not on. I used the guide button by mistake and it turned the tv on. After a few times the on button started to working. Some times I still have to use the tv remote but not often. Hope it works for you.
