Remote turns TV off and then on again

When I use my DIRECTV Stream remote to turn my Samsung TV off, within seconds it turns back on again.

How do I fix this?

Have you tried reprogramming the remote again?

Do you have HDMI CEC enabled in the Samsung TV settings? It's called Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) in the tv settings-in external device. I keep mine disable on my Samsung tv or funky things happen lol

I have the same issue on all three of my TVs: 2 Samsung, 1 Vizio.

Previously no problems when using directv remote to turn off tv and the receiver. But for a month now 5 seconds after turning off, the TV come back on. If I disconnect the HDMI from the box to the tv and turn the power off, the tv stays off. It is almost like the HDMI signal is trying to rewake the TV.

This seemed to happen last month when I believe my receivers took a firmware update.

On Samsung it's called HDMI Anynet. Have you tried a new HDMI cable?

LUDWICK577 above, gave GREAT advice!  It was simple & fixed both my Samsung TVs.

As stated earlier, I have three different TVs with the problem. One is a older Vizio and another is an older Samsung. They do not have that setting to chnge. My newer Samsun does have that setting, but it is already not turned on. I did toggle it on, then off. Problem remains.

This issue started after all three of my Receivers/IRDs received a software update. Updates happen every 4 to 6 months and there was one around the time the issue started.

i have a ticket open with DIRECTV and the software download logs have been submitted. It was also noted to DIRECTV per their inquiry if I was on a Genie home distro system of which I am… Gen 2.

I have Genie minis on two of my Sony TVs and have the same issue.  It stopped for a few months then started again a couple months ago.  It is frustrating.

Thanks for letting me know.  Amazing that the streamers are having the same issue.  I will repost in the satellite service area.

Try programming your remote manually where you put in the make and model.
