Remote - previous button not working
I too just started having a problem with the "prev" button on my remote. DirectTV Stream user for many years. Suddenly the previous button no longer works. I tried using a different DirectTV Stream remote (same model), re-paired it to my Sony TV and again the previous channel button doesn't work! Could it be related to the "profiles" feature?
Any ideas?

Mine works. Have you tried restarting your device and changing batteries in the remote?

Same with mine. We have DIRECTV stream and two remotes. The previous channel button suddenly stopped working recently on both of them. I don't think there's anything wrong with the remotes or the batteries since this problem started happening with both of them at the same time. Some recent software update bug, perhaps?

I tried many things - removing the batteries from the remotes for several minutes, unplugging the Gemini power cord from the wall and also removing it from the HDMI port on the TV, repairing the remote with the TV. Nothing seemed to work.
However, the day after I posted my previous message about the previous button (sounds confusing - LOL) the button started working again on both remotes. I'm inclined to believe there was some software update that changed things because I don't see why that same button on both remotes stopped working and then all of a sudden they both started working again.
Anyway, mine is working again and hopefully it will stay that way.

AT&T sent me two new remotes. When I activated them, they went through an extensive "updating" process. Immediately the problem was solved! I'm grateful for this, but like Roadjeff's experience, it's hard to believe that two remotes both went bad at the same exact time. Had to have been a system bug!

Hi, @cebenjamin. We're glad the issue is fixed. Refreshing the connection between your remote and the Gemini device can indeed fix many common problems. Arlyn, DIRECTV Community Specialist
