I think so, as long as it is compatible with the streaming device you are using. You may need to use IR mode for both to work, though.

Amazon sells Dtv Stream box remotes. You can also use a Dtv Satellite remote for their box...no voice search button on the sat remote, though.

Apparently Directv Stream does not sell the remote separately. You must purchase the entire device including the receiver.  I see Amazon and Ebay do sell the remote only. I did not want to purchase unless the second one will work on the same TV. 

Though I haven't tried it, the box will supposedly support 2 of the stock remotes at the same time (paired over Bluetooth).

Yes, you can connect 2 remote controls to a Directv Streaming box. You cannot buy a new remote through the Directv website but you can call customer service to get another remote I am not sure how much they charge.  You can also get them on many different websites.  You would just have to look around and see what you can get the best deal on.

Apparently Directv customer service needs better training. When I called them I was told you CANNOT add another remote to the same receiver. They stated once you activate a second remote, it will deactivate the other. Go figure. 

Unfortunately, yes. Most overseas agents are often poorly trained (like most other companies) and thus agents are unaware of these type of questions. They usually read off of a script. 

I just ordered the same remote that came with the Directv Box off ebay. When I got it I went thru the pairing process just like you did with the one that came with the box.

Both work fine.
