Recording a program series
I have been recording the Hawaii 5-O series on the ION channel. The episodes air every Friday all day. We have been watching the show starting with the first episode of season one. The episodes air on ION in chronological order. However, even though I pay for unlimited cloud recording. Only 30 episodes will record. As more are recorded on Fridays, previously recorded episodes will be automatically deleted so the remaining episodes stay at only 30! How come this is happening since I have unlimited recording

Hello. With unlimited DVR storage you should be able to record as many episodes as you want, and we thank you for bringing this to our attention. Please meet us in a private message to check your account settings and resolve this recording issue. Saula, DIRECTV Community Specialist

You have unlimited storage, but with a limit of 30 episodes maximum for a given show.

Buried in the fine print on DirecTV Stream’s website is a warning to customers that its unlimited cloud DVR service will only store a maximum of 30 episodes in a series recording, and that recordings beyond the 30-episode limit will be automatically deleted, “which may be in less than 9 months."

And as is far too common, @DIRECTVhelp doesn't know how the service they are allegedly supporting works. Maybe "you should be able to record as many episodes as you want", but that isn't what you've ever been able to do.
