RC82V remote volume function does not function with a paired Samsung QN90D

Purchased a Samsung QN90D to replace an aging 2011 Samsung 55" and paired the new TV with the RC82V; however, everything works on the Direct remote except for the volume controls, which do work on the Samsung remote. I have a second RC82V which also exhibits the same no volume control symptom.

Steps to correct:

o Changed remote batteries,

o When I attempt to move the volume control up or down, the blue LED'a flash once as does the blue LED on the Direct receiver,

o Reset the Direct receiver and the QN90D multiple times,

o Re-paired one of the remotes multiple times,

o Apparently unable to factory reset the RC82V (Mute & Exit; no activity on any LEDs).

Because the Samsung remote has full function, including volume control, I am suspicious that the problem lies with the Direct remote(s) and or receiver since I cannot successfully perform the factory reset, but I have no proof.

I would greatly appreciate any help offered.

Thank you

Which kind of paring did you choose? Manual or standard? Also in the remotes and devices/program your remote make sure hdmi-cec volume control is off. If it's off then maybe try turning it on.

Thank you for bringing the issue with our remote control's volume buttons to our attention. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate that you've already attempted basic troubleshooting. This issue can occur when there's a change of device, such as when you purchased a new TV. Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Press and hold the DASH (–) and APPS buttons until you see the LED lights on the remote blink blue twice.
2. Restart your Gemini device by pressing and releasing the red button on the side of the device. You can also unplug your device and then plug it back in.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, please visit the following link for more information about programming your remote control: How to program your DIRECTV remote control | DIRECTV Support Let us know if this helps.

Ludwick577,

You broke the code! The HDMI-CEC Volume was ON, so I toggled it OFF and ON-nothing. I then toggled HDMI-CEC OFF, and bingo, volume works! Case closed.

Thank you SO MUCH!

Lou
