Pair Vizio Sound Bar to DTV Gemini Remote

The DIRECTV Gemini remote is only used to program with the TV, not a soundbar. 

So I can’t adjust the volume on my sound bar using the DTV remote? Just making sure. Thank you

Correct. If you already paired your DIRECTV Gemini remote with the TV, it isn't capable of controlling the soundbar directly at the same time.

Ouch!  Got to use 2 remotes

Or buy a universal remote with more capability than the cheap DirecTV remote. 

I am using a Harmony universal remote. I will try pairing that one. 

I am using c71kw-400 as model for att air gemini but I can’t seem to control power functions of the gemini device with my harmony activities. Any suggestion? Thanks

BTW guys I am now able to control my Vizio sound bar with my DTV remote. A message came up on my tv asking if I wanted to control my tv volume with my remote. I answered yes. Then it asked me to input tv model. I put in Vizio which is my sound bar instead of TCL which is my TV. Bingo !  The sound bar started responding to my DTV remote.  Now I am trying to get my Harmony universal remote to work with DTV. Patience is the word ….

I see you posted that you are using the Harmony remote. Are you able to create activities and if yes how do you power on/off the gemini Air?

I don't have a Gemini Air. I have C71K boxes. I simply programmed my Harmony using the DirecTV device codes. Seems to work fine.  Perhaps the Air is different?
