We're sorry if it's still not working, @Slick23. Some older TV models may not function properly, and some features may not work on a device that is not compatible with your receiver. If your TV's power-off and on feature does not function when using the DIRECTV remote, you need to use your TV remote to turn on/off your TV completely. did you toggle on....power off devices ..in the remote settings?

Yes … Power Off Devices is toggled on

My old Hitachi was supported by my Xfinity/Comcast remote … I’m lucky that I was able to find the 24 year old remote

Volume control works … Power off/on control does not

This old hitachi has a “soft mute” and “full mute” … the last attempt to program the remote seemed to figure it out … still no luck on the power off/on

It’s pure sentimental … watching DIRECTV Streaming over a 1.2 gig internet on a Rear Projection TV that was built 8 years before Smart TV was invented

Have you tried doing the "Standard" program remote in settings? Try saying no it doesn't work---even though it does control the mute/volume --during the 1st try and move onto the next time it can control volume. 

Yes … the volume and mute functions are now working with the remote … only power off/on is not working

I don't think you get what I am asking you to do. When you do the standard setup---even if it works just say no so you can move onto the next code. Just remember how many you are into it. Say if the first time the volume/mute works --say no----then remember next time to say yes to the 2nd time. If that doesn't fix the power/on off the next time say no to 1 and 2---then yes to the third time. 

Well … I’ve tried saying no up to 7 times (maybe more) … no combination resulted in the power off/on working … and most combinations resulting in the volume/mute not working either
