LG Volume Control
I have several DTV Stream boxes and I'm pretty good with them however I have an issue with the one I just set up.
I am using an LG TV with no soundbar (sound system) - just internal speakers on the TV.
When programing the remote, it detects the LG TV as well as an LG sound bar - I don't have a sound bar - and it wants to control the volume via the sound bar, not the internal speakers. I try to set Switch Speaker to TV but it defaults back to LG sound system and I have no volume control via the remote.
Any idea how I remove the LG sound system and set it to TV speakers?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @Jestochin, we're sorry you're having trouble setting up your speaker system. You can reprogram the volume control by following these steps:
1. Choose Settings and then System.
2. Select Remote & Devices, then Program Your Remote.
3. Select TV or Speaker System, press OK
4. Select Switch Volume Control, press OK
5. The device is now set to control the volume.
If the issue persists, you can try unpairing your remote and pairing it again. Visit How to fix your DIRECTV remote | DIRECTV Support to read more. Let us know if that helped. Shirley, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Hi Shirley,
Sorry, I guess I explained it wrong.
Here's what I have:
When programing the remote, it automatically detects the LG TV as well as an LG sound bar - I don't have a sound bar but it still sees it - and it wants to control the volume via the sound bar, not the internal speakers. I try to set Switch Volume Control to TV but it defaults back to LG sound system and I have no volume control via the remote.
I have unpaired the remote as well but it still sees the LG TV and a LG sound system that is not there.
Any idea how I remove the LG sound system (that does not actually exist) and set it to TV speakers?
Thanks again!

Let's try to do a factory reset of your remote control by following the steps below. Once done, please pair your remote and then try the steps provided previously to fix the audio output. Let's know how it goes. Ariane, DIRECTV Community Specialist
1. Press and hold the Home and Exit keys simultaneously, until the LEDs on both sides display red.
2. Press 981 on the remote control.
3. The LEDs will turn Off and then blink blue 3 times on both sides.

Hi @Jestochin. If that didn't work, you may try these steps: go to Settings, Remote & Devices, Program Your Remote.
Enable HDMI-CEC Volume Control
Disable HDMI-CEC Volume Control
The Switch Volume Control setting should return to TV and the RCU will control the TV's volume.
