It's so hard navigating with the Samsung remote. Will there be an update from DTV Stream to make it easier to get to the guide or put Ch#?
It's so hard navigating with the Samsung remote for Direct TV Stream. Will there be an update from DTV Stream to make it easier to get to the guide or be able to input a number to get to a certain channel. Seriously considering switching to Dish because of the difficulty navigating and the constant lag when trying to switch channels.

Not likely. Why not just get a DirecTV Stream box to connect to your TV? Then you'll have a dedicated GUIDE and channel number buttons. Much easier than switching to another streaming service.

Perfect! Thank you! Yes after posting the question I did some research and realized there was an actual box with a remote which I just ordered. lol. We've been struggling with the remote and guide for months.

Only the DirecTV Stream device supports channel numbers. The Samsung app has always been inferior. Most opt to go with another external device. None of the other services support channel numbers anyway.

My issue with getting a DirecTV stream box is that we split our time between two different states. We were using satellite and unplugging and transporting the genie and mini's which was a pain so we switched to streaming. I have had nothing but issues. I have spent the last 7 days and countless hours with support to get it to work on both of our Samsung TV's and Cell Phones. Their current solution for the remote to work is use the down arrow to bring up the guide and use the middle enter and arrows to move around. None of the other functions of the remote work. There is definitely major room for improvement to use the Samsung remote with DIRECTV Streaming. Hoping this will happen or maybe we will consider another option for streaming.
