Is C71KW-400 the newest hardware for DTV Streaming?

This is in reference to the "no contract" DTV Streaming service where you can use a Roku, Fire Stick, Google Chromecast w/Google TV, Android TV, etc.  I use Fire Sticks and Roku, but I also have a used C71KW-400 I got from eBay and it works well.

My C71KW-400 says it was manufactured in 2019, so it's a bit old when it comes to  processor/memory/performance.

My question:  Is this the newest hardware (most powerful hardware) that I can get from DTV/AT&T for the no contract DTV Streaming service?

Thanks.

They offer a dongle device called "Gemini" to contract subscription subscribers. It is not available to no contract subscribers ("Bring your Own Device"). I am not aware that this device is available by anyone outside of DirecTV.

Thanks.  Does the Gemini Air work with the DTV Stream no contract service?  Does the Gemini Air have more memory and faster processor than the "Gemini" C71KW-400?  Will it work faster through menus, etc?

I have both and they work the same for me. I don't know the specific specs at the moment though. Key to speed on both of them is disabling pre-installed apps you don't use. Also, Gemini air is wifi only. No ethernet input. The box has an ethernet port and also uses wifi.

Besides having no Ethernet capability, the Gemini Air also doesn’t support an IR remote, so you’d be limited to the stock remote.  It does have a newer processor than the Gemini, so more performance (though the same amount of RAM and flash) and it might have hardware support for more codecs.  But on eBay they are currently selling for roughly 3 times what the Gemini is, so to my mind right now not worth the cost differential.  There’s a good chance the differential will get smaller over time - the Gemini Air is still a fairly recent item, so far fewer on the used market.
