How to Control Screensaver on DirecTV Streaming Device

I am a new user with two DirecTV Streaming Devices. I can not find any obvious way to control the amount of time delay before the screensaver starts. It starts after 1 - 2 minutes of inactivity. I would like to be able to change that delay to 10 minutes. The only options I can fine in Settings -> Preferences is On or Off, and Backdrop or Colors. I know this is a customized AndroidTV device. Is there setting hidden somewhere else deeper in the system that I have not yet found?

Hi Dave, thank you for letting us know your concern. We understand how essential it is to have this feature to enjoy fully on our streaming devices. Currently, the only screensaver features available are the following, as you mentioned. Rest assured, we work daily to improve and take this feedback seriously.

 

Screensaver

  • Screensaver is ON by default.
  • The device screensaver displays when there is no activity after approximately 5 minutes for example:
  • Pausing Live TV, On Demand, or Cloud DVR content for more than 5 minutes after the completion of Pause Ads.
    • For additional information on Pause Ads.
    • Accessing an Apps without signing into an app remaining on the sign in screen.
    • Or in the Google Play Store with no activity.
    • Customer can press any buttons on the remote control to return to the last screen.
    • If the screensaver is toggled Off, the device screensaver doesn’t start, and they remain the screen or return to a paused state after Pause Ads completed.

Screensaver Type

  • There are 2 options: Backdrop (default), Colors.

My screen saver is stuck .  I paused and now that is all I see. We have tried everything.  Every channel comes up with sound but no picture. Just the same screen saver picture. It doesn't even change

Can we get or own pictures on screensaver mode. There as been “zero” changes to the screensaver pictures since I went with direct TV (ATT TV) prior to that ~10 ears ago.
