Gemini Remote for Roku TV

I accidently un-paired my Gemini Remote from my New TCL Roku TV (I am using Gemini because remote is better than Roku remote). I then re-paired per instructions, including reset of the box, and the Gemini remote works fine again, except that when I turn on the TV by Gemini remote, the Roku Home Screen comes up instead of DIRECTV and  I have to use the Roku remote to move over to HDMI1 before the Gemini remote again takes control. How do I fix this?
