Gemini Air Won't Connect to Hotel Wi-Fi
I was sent the device under the beta tester program. I have reached out to support, but no one seems to be aware of the program.
The issue I am experiencing, is the device won’t allow the hotels Wi-Fi splash page to open, so I am not able to accept conditions and connect it to the internet. I have reached out to support, but no one seems to be aware of the program
I could “manually” connect, but it would require, which are unavailable:
- ServerIP
- Subnet Mask
- Default Gateway
- DNS

Hi u/Garyh57. We know being able to connect your device to any Wi-Fi is key. Check out this article for some steps to follow and fix the connection issue https://www.directv.com/support/article/KM1498124. Let us know if the issue persists. Luisa, DIRECTV Community Specialist

This is a common problem with hotel systems. They probably expect you to log in with a standard browser so they can verify your connection, and also access other hotel services. I doubt that the gemini air will ever be able to do this.

I have attempted to use the link provided by Luisa, but it does not open. Any other suggestions?

I don't think you'll get it to work on that WiFi. This is a common issue with many streaming devices that can't show the webpage used by the hotel to validate login information.

For the Gemini device to work in hotels, you must contact the hotels guest Wi-Fi provider, via the guest support phone number, provided by the hotel. You then have to have the device whitelisted for the duration of your stay. They will need the MAC address for the device.
It works great, just like I'm at home.
