Gemini air unable to sign in

Hello, Directv Stream no contract customer, just bought a "new" gemini air from E-bay, went though the setup and do not see any way to put in my Directv Stream log in info, all it shows is to log into Google, which I did the first time I tried to set it up but it comes up with DVR recordings that are not mine. How would it know what my Stream account is from my Google account?

This Gemini was sold as being new but it seems it's tied to someone else's account. I did the factory reset but still the same. Can't turn off the auto sign in because I don't have that option on my Directv account page.

Am I screwed? Waiting to hear from Directv support now but I read other people had the same issue and they couldn't help.

Messaged seller and he called me, tried resetting a different way still get the "were signing you in message" Seller is sending out a new device.

Directv does have an auto sign-in option that automatically signs someone into their account.  The only way to disconnect it is for the person who bought the device from Directv to sign out of the device through their online account.  But if they are under contract or owe any money for the device the device will be useless for you because Directv will not allow the device to be transferred to another account.

I was just looking under device info and it shows an e-mail address associated with a Directv account, the seller is sending out another unit so hopefully there will be no issues with it. Thanks for the reply.

I have the same problem. I bought my device on eBay and have had no issues for about 3 months. Turned it on today and someone else’s email and account is in it. I can’t logout as it says ASL is turned on. Absolutely ridiculous. I can’t logout purchased pic if I wanted to!!! 

It seems the serial and Device Mac is tied to an old account and whatever upgrades DTV did recently. 

Options?

I think solidsignal sells the  Gemini air. New ones. Walmart sells the Gemini box for 40 bucks.... Amazon 79.

The seller I bought mine from replaced it for a third time and the latest one I got works fine and it let me sign into my own account, the first 2 showed someone else's e-mail address and I couldn't sign them out to sign my account in.

I would contact your seller and see if they can do anything.

I contacted the seller and he was helpless. Said seems like a Directv issue. Not to mention I bought it in Jan! I spent almost two hours with offshore support chat yesterday and they don’t care. Answer was should have bought new and that came from Cheung (manager supposedly). 

I could do lots of things such as purchase ppv movies etc but I wouldn’t. Just doesn’t make sense. I did email the user email address but it bounced back. I was also told by support the email address is not necessarily the user address of the account. 

Purchasing from solid state at over $200 is robbery!

I understand that. But 9 months later who cares? eBay certainly doesn’t. You know how it is. You try to do the right thing and no one cares. 

I guess I could sell the unit I have that offers programming lol but I wouldn’t do that and I wouldn’t want anyone else to do it to me. 

the seller I believe is not an individual based ont beer eBay account. They sell everything and this was a one off item they sold.
