Firestick
We were told by Direct TV Streaming specifically to purchase a 2nd generation Firestick to enable us to set up one of our TV that is not a smart TV. I now see there is a 3rd generation Firestick on the market. My question: is the 2nd generation Firestick 'THE' one we must purchase (model LY73PR). Thank you.

No, any modern Fire Stick version should be sufficient.

Hello, we want you to have all the information handy so that you can make the best decision regarding your Firestick purchase. The difference between this device's second and third generation is mainly in terms of hardware, so what you need to ensure is that the Firestick of the second generation (Model LY73PR) that you plan to purchase is compatible with the TV you are referring to. In the following link https://www.directv.com/support/stream/article/KM1226914/, you'll be able to find all the information to determine if your TV is eligible for this device. Thank you for choosing DIRECTV. Lina, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Lina, as long as the TV has an HDMI port, it should work fine with any streaming device. So, just an FYI, what you are saying isn’t a problem.
