DTV Stream extras on Roku

Is there any way to add the Movie Extra Pack if you've subscribed via Roku? If you've subscribed via directv.com, it requires their box and several additional fees and I don't need or want any of that. DTV Stream has a great program lineup, but if I can't add the Movie Extra Pack on Roku, then I'll need to shop somewhere else. I hate having to mix and match stream suppliers because every user interface is different. I'm starting to wish that I had stayed with cable with all of its warts!

I've tried all of that and it appears that it's not available if you've subscribed and are billed through Roku. I've attempted it both through my Roku account and through my DTV Stream account.

Roku is the billing agent because I subscribed using my Roku, not on the net. If I go to 'manage' in the DTV account it shows up but it tells me that I have to manage via the Roku account. I go to the Roku account and the needed package isn't available so I've unsubsidized. As of this coming Thursday DTV gets cut completely.

Just cancel and sign up again with another email account. This time go thru DirecTV Stream online.

I agree with that, however, if you look carefully at the DTV Stream websites and carefully read their terms, you will receive their Gemini set top box whether you want it or not. The problem with that is that you now have to pay an additional charge to use that box and another additional charge for regional sports! Avoiding that is exactly the reason that I subscribed using the Roku in the first place.

As far as I can tell the advertised net pricing is a scam because there's no way to get that pricing if they force their set top box on you.

No, not true. You can use your own device. Looks for the right selection.

Of course you can, but you also get their Gemini set top box and that requires additional fees. Read the fine print.

Several months ago, before I was ready, there was a selection on the website to elect to not accept their box. That's no longer an option.

No, they have an option "bring your own device" that does not include the fees, etc. They make it hard to find now.

DIRECTV STREAM - Live Stream TV on Mobile & Streaming Devices

To acquire the service without the device, it would be through streamtv.directv.com

I don't see any thing here that indicates 'bring your own device' but I don't see any of the text that mentions shipping the Gemini box to you either. I'd have sworn that I saw that just this morning. Thanks for the help and your patience. I'll report back on Friday when I attempt a net sign up after my Roku subscription has expired.

Different site then DirecTV website because it's a different service. If you scroll down, you will see devices supported (Roku, Fire, Apple, etc.).

Just a note: You only get unlimited DVR if you sign up on-line. Did you have unlimited via your Roku subscription?

Yes, I do have unlimited DVR. It's fairly decent, but I have occasional freezes and restarts. Even with its occasional burps it's better that that of other streaming services that I've been trying.
