Directv stream
In my living room, using the Gemini box, I receive LA locals (I live in LA) but I can not record them - it say recording is based on my billing zip code. In my bedroom, using a firestick, I receive Phoenix locals (I used to live in Phoenix), and I can record them. I just spent over an hour on the phone with an agent who tried to fix this for me but was unsuccessful. Help!

You need to update your billing address and the card associated with your account and make sure the zip codes match your new address. What is happening is that your old address is what is still being used for your locals this is why you cannot record your LA locals and can record the Phenix locals it is recognizing you as being away from your old address as you most likely did not update it when you moved. Also if you can update your home location in the settings that would not be a bad idea either as it will help set your LA locals. Hope this helps you.

Thanks Tiger! I have changed my billing address, both online and on the phone with DTV/ATT. I spent over an hour on the phone with a CS agent who at one point told me "California privacy laws don't let you record local stations". I finally got an agent that knew what they were doing and was told that the billing address change was not going through and would have to be done manually by the front office. I was told this could take up to 24 hours and I'm waiting for it to take effect.
