Directv Stream Time Issues
Since I’ve configured my own pfSense firewall in my network, my Directv Stream boxes have been having issues getting the correct time which won’t let us watch TV. I have an NTP (Time) Server setup and every other device uses it just fine, however my Directv Stream boxes will not.
Can someone tell me how the Directv Stream devices pull time so I can narrow down the problem. Whenever they turn off, the time will reset even if I manually set it.

What do you mean by low to medium?

As is too common, an @DIRECTVhelp rep had no clue as to what your question meant, but still felt compelled to chime in with a response that meant nothing.
I can’t answer your original question. While it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Google includes a NTP client in Android TV, it’s also quite possible that DTV passes the time in using a private protocol.
Does pfSense allow logging of what it blocks? if so, that might be your best shot.
I’m also surprised that when “get time automatically“ is turned off the time on the device still gets reset. What does it get reset to?

It does have one but I have so much going on and don’t have a lot of time at the moment to really dig into it.
I figured it would be easier if they could provide the IP space to allow. Heck, the box itself runs on Android. I guarantee it has an NTP ability which they had to have turned off so surely someone should know how to allow it.

Anybody that would know if or how to enable NTP probably doesn't hang out in this user forum.
