DirecTV Stream Remote does not power off Sanyo TV

My DirecTV Stream remote will power on the TV and the volume controls function fine. However, this remote will not power OFF the TV.  We must use the TV's remote to power off the TV. I have read through various suggestions and tried the troubleshooting to no avail.

So far we have:

  • placed new batteries in the remote.
  • confirmed that the Remote settings show, "power Off" (and I've even tried turning OFF that setting just to check).
  • deleted all remotes and set them up again from scratch using both the manual and automatic methods.
  • I have tried the HDMI-CEC settings on both the TV and DTV Stream to see if I could use CEC to get around the issue - no luck.

I'm out of ideas and need help.  My Visio TV in a different room functions just fine, but the Sanyo doesn't seem to want to cooperate.

Thanks for the response.  I have just completed a diagnostic factory reset.  No change to the situation.

As an update, I've just run into the exact same symptoms on a second TV, but this time an Vizio TV that is about 5 years old.  As a wrap up, I have multiple TVs that are working fine, but at least 2 that are showing the same symptoms described in the original post.

I'm having the same problem with my Dtv Stream remote will not turn off my JVC tv. I've gone through the settings several times to no avail. It turns the TV on but not off.

Works fine on another TV (Sharp). Please advise.
