DirecTV Stream login Care Code 205.4 error
Just bought the DirecTV streaming device after our DirecTV satellite service started going out multiple times a day in an area that hasn’t seen rain in months. (Maybe there was a cloud over a neighboring state. Who knows?) After successfully setting up the device on the TV in the main bedroom, and adding the app to our brand new Samsung TV in the living room, the app now says “Hmm… That isn’t the ID you set up for this service. Try signing in with another ID. Care Code 205.4” But that exact login that we used to set up the streaming device on the TV in the main bedroom is the same login my husband and I both used today to set up apps on our iPhones and on my Chromebook without a “Hmm… Care Code 205.4” in sight. I have deleted and reinstalled the app on the television but that has zero effect. Any suggestions other than to go down the torture pit that is AT&T Customer Service by phone?

Did you use the same username/password for your DirecTV Stream account that you used for DirecTV Satellite?

That's likely your issue. It's best to use a different username for the Stream account, otherwise their systems get confused.

I am getting the same 205.4 error code. I checked and my tv is on the compatible list. I have a satellite receiver in the house, but it is suffering some sort of interference. Does my Directv service automatically enable Directv Stream? If so, how do I log in.

Curious, the message on the TV that the app generated said to login to directv.com, but there is no mention on the website about Directv Stream. Seems like a little disconnect. I will pick up the phone. Thanks.
