Directv Gemini installation issue
Have two Sony smart TVs. The older unit works smoothly with Gemini, but the newer (XR-55A95L) does not. The Gemini remote control turns on both the Gemini and the TV. The TV screen shows the Directv home screen with both visual and audio for a few seconds. But then the screen turns dark. After a while, the word "Sony" appears, followed by "Google TV" (as if the Google TV app is loading). Then the TV kicks back alive with the TV's home screen. The TV works fine from there on. This process can last about a minute or longer. The same thing happens if one turns the TV on first with the Sony remote, chooses TV (Gemini) for input and then turns the Gemini on with the Gemini remote: the TV will turn dark and so on and so forth. Tried to sort this thing out in different ways but it persists. Hope someone can help.

Issue resolved, sort of.
The Sony Bravia TV reboots when it's turned on with the Gemini remote. One cannot prevent the Gemini remote from syncing with the TV during Gemini setup, as the setup won't continue unless the syncing is complete.
Solution: But one can turn the sync off from the TV end.
What to do: On the TV,
1. Go into Settings -- External Inputs -- Bravia Sync Settings
2. Turn off Bravia Sync Control (This also turns off the other two switches.).
Result: The TV won't reboot now.
Drawback: The two remotes are now completely unsynced so one need to operate the TV and Gemini with their respective remote.
