DirectTV remote with Hisense Roku TV

To program your DIRECTV STREAM remote to your Hisense Roku TV, let's follow these steps:

1. Open DIRECTV STREAM on your TV device.
2. Choose Settings and then System.
3. Select Remote & Devices, then Program Your Remote.
4. Choose the TV manufacturer or sound bar you want to add.
5. Follow the prompts to finish up.

Once it's done, your remote should be paired and ready to work.

Did you program the sound bar into the Dtv Stream remote settings?

My remote was already paired, so I just repaired. I added my sound bar as another device but I still cannot use my DirectTV remote to adjust the volume. I’m pretty sure this is a universal remote, so it should work? We want to be able to use ONE remote.

What brand is your sound bar? And the manufacturer was listed when you added it in the settings? Did you restart the box to see if that fixes the issue?

When I added the sound bar it didn’t show any brands. My TV is a Hisense Roku TV and  my sound bar is also Hisense. 

What you mean is the remote doesn't control both the sound bar AND the tv volume? Dtv Stream box/remote only controls one devices volume. I connected a sound bar a few months ago and the sound only came out of the sound bar and not the tv. I was hoping to have both putting out sound.

No, the sound comes out of the sound bar and not the tv and that is what I want. I can't use the DirectTV Stream Remote to control the volume at all. I have to use the Roku remote that came with my tv. I'm wondering if the DTV stream box needs to be plugged into HDMI (Arc) on the TV? Right now I have the sound bar plugged into HDMI (ARC) and the DTV box plugged into HDMI 2.

I should add, this is a new sound bar - the remote worked with that soundbar

You can only use one sound device at a time. I tried adding a sound bar a few months ago and no sound came out of my tv. I did some research and only one device works at a time for sound (I already said this)

Anyone have a fix to sync the hisense Roku tv with the direct tv remote. Followed the directions and the volume still dose not work. The channel button works. The volume button does not.  Once you set the direct tv remote is says press the volume up to confirm the sync. It works at that point but once you are out of setup . The volume no longer works. Throes three remotes and all are the same.

I had the same issue except the DirecTV remote would not control power. Apparently, there are several codes for each brand of TV. I fixed it by "lying" to the TV. After the first time I programmed the remote and it didn't work, I went through the process again and when asked if the volume button worked, I said "no" (even though it did) and the remote went to the next code and I replied "yes". I had to go through this process four times before the remote worked. That is, after you say "no" to the test you'll have to say no 2,3,etc. times each time you try to program it to get to the next code.

My DirecTV remote works with the Hisense TV Brand. However, it only works with the Hisense TV if you agree to utilize the Google application, download and install.

The problem I'm currently experiencing is that even after programming the DirecTV remote and installing the Google application, the Hisense TV does not retain the remote pairing settings and after powering off the Hisense TV and powering back on, the DirecTV remote no longer functions (volume, guide, etc.).

Is there a firmware update for the Hisense TV or DirecTV remote to address this problem?

Are you talking about using a Dtv remote with the Directv Stream app on your Hisense (google tv)----or do you have a Directv Stream device ---Gemini box or Gemini Air???
