Direct tv Stream on Firestick

I am beyond frustrated. I constantly get the ‘No internet connection watching from my firestick on my tv. I have tried all the “tricks” I can find and even went as far as factory reset on my firestick. Other streaming applications on the firestick don’t have this issue. When I finally get fed up and use my iPad to watch Direct tv stream it works just fine. 
I don’t believe I have an issue with my internet as it doesn’t drop on my iPad and I work remote and I don’t drop connectivity with my vpn. 

Anyone else experiencing this? And did you find a way to fix it?
