direct stream remote and vizio tv

Why are there so many problems with Direct stream .I haven't been able to watch in almost 2 weeks. I am paying for something I can't use.

Your answer does not solve the issue of "Direct TV Remote does not control Vizio on-off or volume". Strangely it will mute and unmute the Vizio volume but nothing else re Vizio control. I have reprogrammed multiple times. The app is updated. The DTV Stream app works fine, just no volume or on-off Vizio control. So do you have a real solution other than referring to a link of generic non-solutions? I was very impressed with DTV Stream until this issue. Other DTV Stream devices work 100% on my other LG TV's.

I have a similar issue: the DirecTV Stream remote WILL control volume bur NOT the on/off on my non-Smart Vizio TV, Model # VX32L HDTV10A, Mfg, date: 9/2007.

In remote settings---is "power off devices" turned on?

I have the same exact problem on my 2007 Vizio model P50, and yes, "power off devices is on". I can control volume, but not on-off.

Somewhere along the line, this got fixed for me. I did replace both my set top box and remote, so that may have something to do with it... Still not thrilled with DirecTV Stream. At least in our locale (Lubbock, Texas) video will freeze on some channels, and the ABC affiliate has just gone dark several times. Makes no sense....

Same problems here. Got a new remote, sill not working.  Do I need to replace my box?
