Direct Stream Device

I have a new Samsung Tv and when I try to set up the Direct Stream Device it seems to set up fine but after the TV has been off for a while and is turned back on I get audio but no picture. Please advise on what could be causing this.

Thanks

JD

"HDMI Handshake" issues can cause this if the Stream box and Samsung TV don't synchronize properly. Try using a different HDMI INPUT on the TV, a different HDMI cable, or leaving the DirecTV Stream box powered ON.

Thanks but I tried different cables and inputs and didn't help. I'm not sure I can leave the Stream box on because the remote(s) are synced to the tv and stream box.

The other thing is do I set up the Stream box as a Cable Box or OTT when given the choice during set up?

I have a Samsung Tv as well. Try turning off "Anynet+(HDMI-CEC)" off in the tv's settings---external device manager. For me, when that settings is on--seems to cause more trouble than actually work. Do you have more devices connected to other HDMI inputs?

@BBHFO That reply wasn't meant for you. You already have another thread going with your issue. My reply was meant for OP @JMark65

I'll try that  and no that's the only thing connected to the tv.

Also does it matter if I'm hooked into the eARC HDMI input?

Nope. It don't matter. Turning off the HDMI-CEC/Anynet on the TV will help greatly. Ludwick is giving you some good advice.
