Challenged with Controlling Samsung Tv Sound and Power with Gemini Air Device

Installed Gemini Air device and remote and used the CEC HDMI connection on my Tv.
I can start the TV fine and connect to the Dtvstream service.
I cannot control the volume

AND

Power off the TV.
Note: when I power off the Gemini Air device powers down but I am left with the TV on showing channel all fuzzy so I jhave to use the old TV remote to control volume and power off.

We're also concerned as to why the remote isn't properly working with your Samsung TV. Please try these troubleshooting steps to control the volume.

Press the ‘Home’ button on the remote

Arrow right and select the ‘Settings’ (Gear Icon), press ‘OK’ on the remote

Select "Systems", press "OK"

Select "Remote & Devices", press "OK"

Select ‘Program Your Remote’, press OK

Select ‘Switch Volume Control’, press OK

Select ‘TV’ or ‘Speaker System’, press OK

Device is now set to control the volume.

And to power off the device please try these troubleshooting steps.

Remote Programming – Power Off Devices

Scroll right and Select ‘Settings’ (Gear Icon), press ‘OK’

Select ‘Systems’, press ‘OK’ on the remote

Select ‘Remote & Devices’, press OK

Select ‘Program Your Remote’, press OK

Select ‘Power Off Devices’, press OK.
These steps should resolve the issues you're having with the remote control. please let us know if these help. Bernadette, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Thanks for the update. You may attempt a factory reset using your remote by pressing and holding the Home and Exit buttons together until the LEDs on both sides show red. Next, input 981 on the remote. Once the LEDs go off and flash blue thrice, proceed to re-pair the remote. Please let us know if issue persists. Shirley, DIRECTV Community Specialist
