care code 600

I just switched over to Direct TV Stream.  I'm having a problem with my smart tv.  I'm trying to logon but keep getting a "care code 600" message.  What does this mean.

Is the DIRECTV STREAM app working in other devices?

You can check the list of compatible devices to verify if your smart TV is included.

We can also check the steps to Fix Common DIRECTV STREAM app issues.

Hi Sergio,

i shut the compatible smart tv off.  When I turned it back on the error code was gone and the tv is working.

Hi Sergio.  One more problem.  The living room tv isn't a smart tv.  I hooked everything up including another room which has my smart tv.  Everything was working well last night until the smart tv went blank and said no internet connection.  I shut everything down and started it back up,  The regular tv is working but the smart tv said there's no internet connection although my internet connection is fine. 

Any suggestions?

What is the brand of your smart tv? And are you trying to use the Dtv stream app on that smart tv or do you have an external device? (Roku, firestick, Dtv stream box)

Hi @bilinski1 , thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We recommend you to check the Smart TV settings, to make sure it is connected to the home network.

You can try to go to the Smart TV menu and select Settings>Network, and confirm if the wireless connection is enabled, if not you can activate it and follow the steps to connect it to WIFI.

The smart tv is a Samsung Model UN28M4500AFXZA, version BA01.  I was told it's compatible with your system.  

I went to the connection guide but it only shows:  HDMI, AV and Component, nothing about Direct Stream.  

What I don't understand is why it was working last night and since I set it up once, why am I not able to do so now?

The app for the Samsung TV is very defective and many many subcribers have posted on the issues. There are no fixes for the Samsung app. Your solution is to use an external streaming device like a Roku, Fire Stick, or ATV4. They are aware of the issues but apparently made no attempts to resolve the problems for years.

We have confirmed the model of your Samsung TV is a compatible device with the DIRECTV STREAM app. We recommend you to check if it's possible to change from WiFi to Ethernet in order to improve your viewing experience in this device. We also suggest you to check your Samsung TV has the latest version of its software.
 
In case all the above fails, you can also explore the options to get a compatible Streaming device.

Happened to me last night after i connected to expressvpn .. disconnected from express vpn was able to get in.

You cannot use a VPN with Dtv Stream. Use the service properly and you won't get booted. VPN's hide your location. Dtv Stream depends on knowing your location to deliver the correct locals.

Typically i don't. The VPN is to get access to titles on other services not available in the US. Just forgot to turn it off.

Care codes are DirecTV Satellite error codes. If you are using the same credentials for both services, they need to be different.
