Care code 201

I cannot connect to directv stream through my samsung tv app that was downloaded. I get error care code 201 incrrect user id or passwordThe username and password are correct as I have set it up on my 2 other tvs via firestick.

Care codes are DirecTV satellite error codes. Are you a previous satellite user? Using the same credentials? If so, you need to use different credentials.

I have satellite too. I use the stream to get fox and i have no issues on other tvs doing this that also have satellite using firestick. I have used my sat creds on those two tvs using firestick.  I am usi g a samsung tv for the one having the error code

Are you a subscriber for both DirecTV Satellite and DirecTV Stream services? The 2 are not the same. Each is a paid subscription service. If you are, then you need to use different credentials for each service. This is a well known bug with the services. Also, if you are using the native app for the Samsung Smart TV, You need to be aware that it is very buggy. Most have opted to go with an external streaming device.

Having issues with my Samsung Smart TV's logging into Directv utilizing the Directv Streaming app.

Can log into Directv Streaming using Computer and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra using same login user ID and password as I use to login to my account.  

My billing for Directv is still through AT&T

Have followed everything suggested by Directv:

Updating TV firmware, deleting and reloading app, cycling power on TV, all three devices are on the same Wifi network

This is happening on BOTH of my Samsung Smart TV's

Both TV's were utilizing Satellite receiver boxes to receive Directv previously (trying to switch to streaming

Have no problem loading, logging into and streaming - Disney, Prime, Paramount, Peacock, Netflix, or Apple

Per Error 201 when logging into Directv on Samsung Smart TV

After spending hours on the phone and computer with Samsung and mainly Directv representatives, here's the answer to my issue.

1st - I have a Satellite account with Diretv

2nd - I have a Samsung Smart TV's (both less than 1-year old and firmware up-to-date)

The Directv Streaming app "IS NOT" compatible with Samsung Smart TV's.

You have to have a Directv Streaming account for the Directv app to work on the Samsung Smart TV.

I too am getting an error code 201 on my Samsung TV. I did have a satellite account a few years back which was terminated because we decided to switch to a stream account. My TV downstairs has the "box" connected to it and has no issues with logging in, however the Samsung runs off the app and every so often I get this log in error. I just went through this a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday morning at 7am just like today.... is there a permanent fix to this?

So far the only true solution is not to use the Samsung app but one of the other options instead (Roku, Firestick, DIRECTV STREAM box, etc.). Unfortunately the Samsung app is well known for having issues.

I ended up talking with a tech online who sent me a link to verify the account and miraculously I had no issues.

Please clarify.  A Directv tech in a chat sent you a clickable link to verify your account and you were able to login on the Samsung app?  I too would prefer just to work with the app rather than adding a 3rd party box and another remote.

Yes that’s what happened. I went onto their website, got into an online chat, I got a verification code texted to me and all was well after that. I am wondering if they are doing this once in awhile to try to prevent password sharing.
