Can't change channels on DirecTV stream app on Sony Bravia

I removed and reinstalled the app. Still no luck.  It is impossible to change channels on DirecTV stream on a Sony Bravia.

Those buttons worked. I can't believe I didn't try that. You still can't type a number to go directly to a channel but at least you can get there with the direction pad in the guide.  Thanks for the help.

They haven't supported direct channel entry on any device except their own.  Realistically, that this is because the commodity streamers (Roku, FireTV, AppleTV, now Android TV) have remotes without numeric pads, so there is no way to enter a channel number.  This is obviously not the case for TVs with "built-in" versions of a commodity streamer (like the Sony Bravia).  However, those still might not make the numeric keypad values available to third-party apps - I don't know.  And even if they do, adding that support for a relatively small part of their customer base might be a relatively low priority for them compared to some of the other (more generally applicable) needed improvements they should be addressing.  But maybe someday...

You used the arrow keys as described earlier in this thread and they didn’t work for you?

The only device/remote you can use numbers to change channels is the Dtream box and its remote. You will need to use the Tv's remote to navigate the app's menus. You can change channels on apps via up arrow/recent channels---and by choosing a channel in the guide.
