Can I Pin Protect Settings - Preferences
Is there a way to pin protect the settings page in both the streaming box and app?
I would like the pin to prevent the TVs in my vacation house from setting that as the home location without me doing it since the home location can only be changes 4 times. I tried parental controls but that does not affect the setting menus.
Thanks.

Sorry, I don’t think that’s possible. The only way to prevent those other streaming devices in your vacation home from making changes to the account would be to log them out of your DIRECTV STREAM account and/or change the password. That way, those devices are automatically logged out. Additionally, you may also unplug those devices when you are not there. What streaming devices are being used at your vacation home for DIRECTV STREAM?

I have a mix of set top boxes and the app on fire sticks.
Logging out won't help in my use case since I want the box/app to function but not allow guests to make changes. I'll have to rely on asking guests and particularly their children not to make changes.
I'd hope this could be put in the suggestion box for future software enhancements. It could be as simple as putting a toggle for "settings" in the parental controls options.

Hi @BuddyJet , thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Shutouts to @detuch254 for the prompt response. As you said, to log the devices out of the DIRECTV STREAM account and/or change the password would be a helpful solution to this concern.

Try this steps given below-
By pressing Menu>settings>parental locking, you can open the parental locking settings screen. If prompted, enter the PIN. By pressing OK on the remote control, you can turn off parental locking. You can then click OK after you have reset all parental locks.

Being able to lock the box to prevent location and subscription changes is a must have for short-term rentals.
Please add this feature and you'll set yourself apart in the market.

I'm pretty sure that isn't a use case they really intend to support - their subscriptions are tied to users, not locations (like the satellite subscriptions are), and I don't think allowing non-"household" users is something they want to encourage.
There is a need for them to add profiles (and has been for years), and if there were profiles, then in theory users could have some profiles with "administrative powers" and others without, and that could be used to meet this need.
