C71KW-400 started requiring me to sign in this week.
Hi,
I purchased the C71KW-400 streaming device outright when trying the AT&T TV streaming service (before they spun it off to DirecTV).
I ended up cancelling the service because there was a technical issue that they could not resolve.
I've been using the device as a streaming device to run NetFlix, Fubo, YouTube, Disney+ etc for about a year now.
(The reason I opted to purchase the device is because I liked the remote better than most of the other streaming device's remotes)
Just this week it started asking me to sign in, but when I do, I can't go any further because I no longer have a subscription.
Has DirecTV taken away the ability to use the device without an active subscription?
If so, can I return the device and get a refund?
The entire reason why I paid for it outright was so I could continue to use the device without a subscription.

That's the issue with the box when you know longer have a subscription. You have to login to access apps from the services. Most streaming devices default to a home screen where you load apps. Not with this proprietary box.

I am having the same problem. Cancelled Directv service 14 months ago.
