AT&T Streaming Box

Want to make sure your DIRECTV STREAM device has the most recent updates?

1. Press the HOME button on your DIRECTV STREAM remote.
2. Select the gear icon onscreen to open your DIRECTV STREAM settings.
3. Choose System, then General.
4. Select Check for Updates.

I'll try this, but I haven't had any luck so far.

I have done a hard reset with ethernet cable and it then comes up with a different remote. 

Is this an AT&T older box or one of the newer DirecTV Stream boxes? It looks like one of the older ones based on the URL. Reports are that the older one are no longer available for update since the upgrade path has changed from AT&T to DirecTV. There are many posts on the issue in the forum. Perhaps do a search and review the issues.

Yes, it's a 2019 model. Darn it!

When AT&T and DirecTV split into 2 separate companies, the servers changed and now the software on the older models no longer point to the correct server path. Best to hang that brick up and pursue another device.

You can buy a refurbished box from Directv Stream for $49.99 if you are interested in getting a different box.  But if you were looking to become a customer again you might be eligible to get a free box when you sign up. I would check into it and see.
