TV running complete startup every time I turn it on.
Installed a new TV. Now every time I turn it on it has to run a complete setup. Also if the main tv is turned off, I get no signal in bedroom. This all started after setting up new TV.

Apparently you missed this part of the question. Unless you plugged the new TV in the exact same outlet on the power strip as before, this is an important question. If your TV is in a "master" or "control" outlet and the Receiver is in a "dependent" or "controlled" outlet, then turning off the TV powers off the receiver. Turning the TV back on would make the receiver get power, but then it would have to boot back up.

Is it the TV that is running a complete setup, or a TV Receiver/DVR that is running some sort of setup? What do you mean by "complete setup?" Did you change anything about the way your new TV is connected vs the way the old one was connected?

The Directv receiver is running a setup as if the power had been off. Checking receiver, checking satellite , etc. It takes about 5 minutes. Didn't change anything when hooking up new Vizio.

The DIRECTV Receiver is plugged directly into the wall?
The TV is plugged directly into the wall?
Or are they plugged into a power strip? Does the power strip have outlets that are controlled by another outlet being on or off?

Yes, it is plugged into the master on the power strip. Sorry I missed part of the question. I plugged into a different spot on the power strip and couldn't the tv power to come on. Thank you for trying to help.

Move the DIRECTV box to be plugged into the master. Put the TV in the place where the DIRECTV box was. That way the TV will stay on. So will every other controlled device.

Thank you so much. It worked. Maybe I need a new power strip.

That's a great power strip for certain situations. Plugging an AMP into the master port and your components (turntable, CD player, tape deck) into the controlled points is a nice feature. Turn on the amp, all the other gear comes on, too.
TV Receivers these days take too long to boot up to cut their power off like that. It's fine the way it is now.
